Sterling Competition Series Features The Sterling Competition Series load uses hard antimony-hardened pellets that hold their shape better through the barrel and choke producing tighter more consistent patterns downrange. A newly developed soft wad design cushions the shot column during ignition which both protects pattern density and helps keep felt recoil low across a long day of shooting. High velocity propulsion gives this 7/8 oz payload of #8 shot the speed needed to break targets cleanly at typical clay range distances. Low recoil characteristics mean competitive shooters can stay on target faster between shots an edge that matters across a full round of clays. Sterling s research and development team selected the gunpowder specifically for this load and tested it repeatedly on modern equipment to ensure a high hit rate and dependable ignition shot after shot. The fast-burning primer delivers a high flame length that promotes reliable consistent ignition of the powder charge in every shell. Packed 25 rounds to a box in 12 gauge 2.75 inch hulls this load is sized for a standard day at the clay course or the trap line.
