Speer Gold Dot Features The Speer Gold Dot rifle component bullet brings the same trusted bonded core design that law enforcement professionals rely on into a projectile reloaders can load themselves. Its exclusive manufacturing process bonds the uniform copper jacket to the lead core one atom at a time which virtually eliminates core and jacket separation on impact. This bonding produces a very uniform jacket that drives superb accuracy and immediate threat-stopping performance when loaded to duty specifications. At 168 grains with a .308 inch diameter this soft point is sized precisely for .30 caliber rifle cartridges with a .572 ballistic coefficient and a .253 sectional density. Reloaders can expect nearly 100 percent weight retention thanks to the Gold Dot bonding technology along with consistent penetration and expansion through common barriers. This is a component bullet only intended for handloaders equipped with the proper dies and reloading equipment rather than a finished cartridge. Each box holds 50 bullets giving reloaders enough projectiles to work up and test a personal defense load before committing to a larger batch. The Speer Gold Dot .30 Cal bullet suits reloaders assembling personal defense ammunition who want proven bonded-core performance.
