Proof Research Pre-Fit PXT Tikka T3X Barrel Features The Proof Research Pre-Fit PXT barrel is machined to drop directly into a Tikka T3X action eliminating the need for custom chambering or fitting by a gunsmith. Its PXT rifling rethinks conventional twist geometry to reduce engraving force on the bullet which in controlled testing has shown a 30 to 100 percent increase in barrel life. Smoother bullet engagement into the bore also lowers felt torque during firing helping the shooter stay on target more consistently between shots. The 5 groove 1 in 10 inch twist rate is tuned specifically for the .308 Win cartridge and the bullet weights it commonly fires. Built on Proof Research s proven carbon fiber construction this Sendero contour barrel delivers a strong stiffness to weight ratio that noticeably lightens a Tikka T3X rifle at 2 pounds 10 ounces. The 5/8x24 threaded muzzle allows the owner to run a suppressor or muzzle brake without additional machine work. At 16.5 inches the barrel balances maneuverability with the velocity retention the .308 Win cartridge needs for field and range use. This Pre-Fit design gives Tikka T3X owners a straightforward path to a lighter more durable precision barrel.
