Hornady DGH Features The Hornady DGH is built around a protected point design that locks the bullet nose to its jacketed core so the projectile holds together under the stress of impact with heavy tough-skinned game. That construction limits deflection and drives maximum straightline penetration which matters when a follow-up shot may not be an option. At 300 grains and a .452 diameter this .45 Caliber bullet carries the mass needed to reach vital organs through thick hide muscle and bone. A sectional density of .210 and a ballistic coefficient of .200 round out a profile built specifically for dangerous game applications rather than general range use. Unlike hard cast lead options the jacketed DGH produces no smoke on firing keeping the sight picture clear so a shooter can get back on target faster for a quicker more accurate follow-up shot. This is a reloading component not a loaded cartridge and it ships 50 to a box for handloaders assembling their own dangerous game handgun ammunition. The heavy-for-caliber weight is intended to maximize energy delivery from a backcountry sidearm chambered in .45 Caliber. For hunters and guides who carry a handgun as backup protection against dangerous game the Hornady DGH is for sale at GrabAGun as a dependable purpose-built projectile for that specific job.
