What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"The ankle support made a real difference the first time I hit a rutted, icy stretch, keeping my foot locked in instead of rolling around. It kept me warm even when temperatures dropped into the single digits, and I could still walk normally back at the lodge afterward."Cold mornings expose weak gear fast, usually right at the moment a trail turns rutted or icy underfoot. The Fischer Spider 62 Xtralite XC Ski Package w/ Poles is built to close that gap before it ever opens. A supportive ankle cuff keeps the foot steady through choppy terrain, while water repelling insulation shields toes from the kind of cold that ends most ski days early. The ski underneath carries the same steady confidence. An Air Tec wood core stays light without giving up stability, and full length steel edges step in the moment a sidehill or icy patch demands real control. An Offtrack Crown base grips through climbs without a swipe of wax, and Step In TURNAMIC bindings mean the whole setup clicks together in seconds, even with cold fingers. Add in an aluminum pole shaft built to stay dependable trip after trip, and there's nothing left to think about except the trail itself.
