Pedersoli Kentucky Rifle Features The Pedersoli Kentucky Rifle uses a traditional flintlock ignition system giving shooters an authentic black powder shooting experience that reflects the design lineage of the original American long rifles. The blued barrel finish protects the steel while echoing the historically accurate look these rifles carried in the colonial era and it was chosen as a lighter more accurate alternative to the heavier muskets of the time such as the Brown Bess. A single trigger keeps the manual of arms simple and period-correct letting shooters focus on proper flintlock technique rather than a complicated action. Chambered in .50 caliber with an 8-groove barrel and a 1:48 twist rate the rifle offers enough power for deer-sized game while remaining true to its historical roots. Polished brass fittings accent the rifle throughout adding both traditional styling and corrosion resistance at key hardware points like the trigger guard and buttplate. The walnut stock receives an oil finish rather than a modern synthetic coating preserving the classic look and feel that Kentucky rifle enthusiasts expect. This combination of a light barrel profile and slender stock made the original Kentucky rifles popular among colonial hunters and marksmen and Pedersoli s reproduction carries that same balance and handling forward. At 35.5625 inches barrel length 50.1875 inches overall and 8.15 lbs this reproduction stays true to the proportions colonial shooters relied on. For shooters and collectors who want a historically faithful flintlock rifle for hunting target shooting or living history use this Kentucky Rifle delivers genuine period character.
