Pedersoli Sharps 1874 Boss Features The Pedersoli Sharps 1874 Boss uses a falling block action that has defined the Sharps rifle line for well over a century delivering a positive mechanically simple lockup for each single shot fired. Its 34 barrel with a 1:18 twist rate is built to stabilize the heavy bullets typical of .45-70 loads at extended distances making the rifle a favorite among long-range black powder cartridge competitors. The blued metal finish gives the barreled action a deep traditional luster that echoes the rifle s 19th-century roots. Fixed sights come standard providing a classic sighting setup consistent with the rifle s heritage design. A checkered walnut stock provides both a secure comfortable hold and a visual warmth that fits the rifle s traditional character. At an overall length of 50.8 and a weight of 10.6 lbs the rifle carries enough mass to help absorb the recoil generated by full-power .45-70 loads. This weight and balance also contribute to a steadier hold during long strings of fire at the range or in competition. For shooters drawn to the history and precision of the Sharps rifle platform the Pedersoli 1874 Boss offers an authentic well-built expression of that legacy.
