Dropping into a deep bowl and then charging a tree run to the bottom asks a board to float first and turn quickly second, and the Backwoods Snowboard from Weston is a freeride snowboard shaped for both. The tapered directional shape pairs a wide nose and a tapered tail with a setback stance, so the nose planes up in deep snow and drag stays low. Two carbon stringers run tip to tail through a poplar and bamboo core, adding pop and energy transfer without piling on weight. What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I took this board from deep pow to a firm, wind-scoured apron in the same run, and the camber underfoot held an edge when the snow turned hard. The flex stays quick enough to thread tight trees without feeling stiff or slow."
