"Women's Topo® Ultraventure 5 GTX: If you want a high-cushion waterproof trail running shoe that keeps you comfortable when conditions turn wet, the Ultraventure 5 GTX is a neutral option worth a close look. It is made for mild to moderate terrain and for runs that link road to trail, so you can head out the door without worrying about where the pavement ends. The 35 x 30 mm platform uses a ZipFoam midsole, which gives you a comfortable ride with a lightweight response underfoot. GORE-TEX Invisible Fit technology provides the waterproof protection while keeping the signature Topo fit, so staying dry does not mean giving up how the shoe wraps your foot. Underneath, the Vibram Megagrip outsole is made for grip on all surfaces, especially wet ones, which helps on slick trails and damp pavement. The recycled mesh upper has strategically placed PU print that adds structure and durability in high-abrasion areas. A new universal gaiter attachment system lets you add a gaiter when the trail gets messy. Why Our Fit Experts Love This Shoe""I wore these on a wet loop that started on pavement and moved onto trail, and the Megagrip outsole kept me feeling steady the whole way. I liked that the GORE-TEX upper still had that familiar Topo fit instead of feeling stiff. Plan on going up half a size when you try them on."" - Sawyer, Road Runner Sports Fit Expert, Wilmette ILWho It's Best ForIf you run in rain, mud, or damp conditions and want a cushioned waterproof shoe for mixed routes, this one makes sense. If you also want the option of adding a gaiter for rougher days, the universal attachment system has you covered.
