Federal Elite Hunter Features The Federal Elite Hunter loads a 195 grain hollow point boat tail bullet into 7mm PRC brass cases delivering a combination of high ballistic coefficient and controlled expansion suited to long-range big game hunting. The hybrid ogive shape blends the best traits of tangent and secant nose profiles producing a flatter trajectory and reduced sensitivity to wind drift as distance increases. Launched at a muzzle velocity of 2760 fps the load generates 3298 ft-lbs of energy at the muzzle for reliable terminal performance. A consistent core weight across the bullet lineup helps maintain repeatable ballistics and tighter accuracy from shot to shot. The boat tail design gives this load an aerodynamic advantage at extended ranges helping velocity retention even as the bullet transitions toward subsonic speeds downrange. Federal Premium brass cases and primers are manufactured to tight tolerances a hallmark of the Premium line s reputation for consistency. Packaged in a 20-round box this ammunition suits hunters sighting in before a season or carrying a reliable load into the field for long-range shots. For hunters chasing extended-range opportunities on big game with 7mm PRC rifles the Federal Elite Hunter offers a purpose-built high-performance option.
