Federal Hammer Down Features The Federal Hammer Down brings the technology that revitalized centerfire lever-action ammunition to the rimfire world chambered in .22 LR with a 40 grain copper plated hollow point bullet. Velocities are customized to produce superior ballistics and terminal performance on small game specifically when fired through lever-action rimfire rifles. The case bullet and overall cartridge geometry are shaped to ensure flawless cycling through tubular magazines and lever-action feeding systems addressing a common weak point of ordinary rimfire ammunition in these guns. This purpose-built approach gives lever-action shooters the confidence of smooth function alongside dependable knockdown power. Nickel-plated brass casings resist corrosion and feed smoothly while the specially formulated propellant is matched to deliver consistent velocities suited to shorter lever-action barrels. The copper plated hollow point bullet is designed to expand reliably on small game offering a step up in terminal performance over standard lead round nose rimfire loads. Each box holds 325 rounds giving hunters and plinkers plenty of ammunition for a day afield or at the range.
