Aero Precision M5 Enhanced M-LOK Handguard Gen 2 Features The Aero Precision M5 Enhanced M-LOK Handguard Gen 2 uses a one-piece free float design that eliminates barrel contact helping preserve accuracy on custom M5 .308 builds by keeping the barrel free to harmonically vibrate without handguard interference. Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum to mil-spec dimensions the handguard is engineered to eliminate unnecessary bulk while retaining the strength and stability needed for a hard-use AR-10 platform. Built in anti-rotation tabs keep the handguard securely indexed to the upper receiver preventing rotation under recoil or heavy accessory loads. A 1.78 inch inside diameter at the barrel nut cut area and 1.72 inch diameter toward the forward end accommodate most muzzle devices as well as 1.5 inch diameter suppressors and the handguard remains compatible with low profile gas blocks up to the DPMS high profile .210 tang dimension. Gen 2 updates add quick disconnect sling sockets at the 3 6 and 9 o clock positions giving builders flexible sling mounting options around the handguard. Additional milling along the flats improves grip texture while adding visual detail to the finished build. A new profile for the continuous top Picatinny rail spans the full 15 inch length giving shooters uninterrupted real estate for optics and accessories. This handguard uses the BAR interface and does not include the barrel nut shims or screws needed to mate with a standard DPMS or Aero AR-10 receiver thread pattern so those parts must be sourced separately for a complete build.
