Aero Precision Atlas R-One Handguard Features The Aero Precision Atlas R-One uses the company s proprietary ATLAS taper lock attachment system featuring two mirrored tapered locking nuts that distribute clamping pressure evenly across a custom engineered barrel nut using a turnbuckle screw. A ratcheting detent further locks the handguard in place and provides positive registration during installation so the handguard seats consistently every time. This even pressure design avoids the distortion that is common with other attachment methods during installation keeping the handguard straight and true along its full 16.6 inch length. Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum the handguard is built with size and weight in mind making it a strong option for a lightweight AR-15 build. A full length top Picatinny rail runs the length of the handguard giving the shooter a continuous mounting surface for optics lights or other accessories.
