Thompson Center Contender Barrel Features This Thompson Center Arms barrel is chambered in .44 Remington Magnum and finished in black over chrome moly steel giving it a durable exterior suited to repeated range use and field carry. At 12 inches long with a .810 inch diameter the barrel provides enough sight radius and velocity for the .44 Magnum cartridge to perform at its best. Adjustable sights ship installed on the barrel letting the shooter dial in windage and elevation without needing to add an aftermarket sight system. Because the barrel is drilled and tapped for scope mounts shooters can also add an optic for more precise shot placement at distance. Changing barrels on the Contender platform takes only seconds accomplished simply by removing the forend and tapping out the barrel to frame hinge pin with no gunsmithing required. This interchangeability is a hallmark of the Contender system letting one frame serve multiple calibers and barrel lengths depending on the task at hand. The .44 Remington Magnum chambering adds serious stopping power to a Contender owner s barrel collection suitable for hunting medium to large game or handgun silhouette shooting. Contender owners looking to expand into a proven big bore cartridge will find this Thompson Center barrel a straightforward reliable upgrade.
