Rearden R2C Features The Rearden R2C Flash Hider is machined from 17-4 PH steel and treated with a Black Nitride finish reaching 67 HRC surface hardness giving the device long-term resistance to wear from repeated suppressor mounting cycles. Designed to be compatible with Plan B type mounts including Atlas and Atlas XL suppressor systems the R2C provides a square shoulder that suppressors index against for consistent repeatable alignment. At 2.23 inches long with a 5/8x24 thread pitch it is sized for use on larger caliber rifle barrels. Unlike some of Rearden s other flash hiders the R2C ships with shims included simplifying the timing process during installation. Proper installation still requires care with Rearden recommending the muzzle device be torqued to approximately 30 ft lbs and Rocksetted to the barrel for a secure square fit. An alignment rod should be used to confirm the suppressor and flash hider line up correctly before the rifle is fired. The nitride finish contributes to a tighter mechanical seal between the flash hider and a mounted suppressor improving consistency shot to shot. Builders assembling a suppressor-ready rifle around Plan B compatible mounting systems will find the R2C a precision-engineered option from a manufacturer known for pushing muzzle device design forward.
