Faxon Firearms M16 Bolt Carrier Group Features The Faxon Firearms Bolt Carrier Group starts with a 9310 tool steel bolt a material chosen over the more common 158 steel for its superior strength and fatigue resistance under sustained high round count use. Every bolt undergoes magnetic particle inspection to verify the material is sound and free of internal defects before assembly a quality control step that goes beyond baseline mil-spec requirements. The back of the locking lugs is chamfered 45 degrees a detail that ensures reliable extraction and cycling even when running high pressure handloads or lightweight fast cycling actions that put extra stress on the bolt. Salt bath nitride treatment covers both the bolt and carrier adding surface hardness and corrosion resistance that extends service life in hard use conditions. Faxon s Superfinish process smooths the carrier body to a mirror-like finish that reduces friction and carbon fouling buildup making field cleaning and maintenance noticeably easier after extended range sessions. The gas key is secured with grade 8 fasteners and fully staked preventing the key from loosening under the repeated impulse of firing a common failure point on lower quality BCGs. An S7 tool steel extractor along with the spring insert and Crane O-ring comes preinstalled so the BCG is ready to drop into a rifle without additional parts to source. Full auto compatible with forward assist serrations this M16 profile BCG works in both semi-auto and full-auto AR-15 and M16 pattern rifles chambered in 5.56 NATO giving builders a dependable high round count upgrade.
