Faxon Firearms Gunner Features The Faxon Firearms Gunner BCG uses a 9310 tool steel bolt that is stronger than the standard C158 steel found in many mil-spec bolt carrier groups and it receives full mil-spec heat treatment along with shot peening for added durability. Every bolt is magnetic particle inspected to confirm the material is sound and free from defects before assembly and the back of the lugs are chamfered 45 degrees to ensure reliable function even under high pressure hand loads. The S7 tool steel extractor is also fully heat treated and shot peened to mil-spec standards then finished with the same QPQ salt bath Nitride treatment applied to the bolt. This combination of materials and treatments is designed to outperform typical chrome and phosphated bolt carrier groups in both wear resistance and corrosion protection. The carrier itself is made from MIL-SPEC 8620 steel and is superfinished to reduce friction increase smoothness of operation and reduce fouling buildup during extended firing strings.
