Faxon Firearms Type 1 Features The Faxon Firearms Type 1 Bolt Carrier Group uses a 9310 tool steel bolt that receives full mil-spec heat treatment and shot peening improving on the strength of standard bolt steel found in many factory BCGs. Every bolt undergoes magnetic particle inspection to confirm the material is free from defects and the back of the lugs are chamfered 45 degrees to ensure reliable cycling under the pressures generated by 7.62x39mm ammunition. A spring insert and crane O-ring are installed at the factory and the entire bolt and carrier assembly is treated with a salt bath Nitride finish for corrosion resistance and reduced friction. The S7 tool steel extractor receives the same heat treatment shot peening and Nitride finish for consistent long-term reliability. The carrier body is superfinished to reduce friction increase smoothness of operation and minimize fouling during extended firing sessions while forward assist serrations keep compatibility with standard AR15 lowers. This bolt carrier group is full-auto compatible maintaining the trip needed for full-auto fire control groups where applicable. Faxon notes this carrier is not compatible with Faxon s own 6.5 Grendel barrels so shooters building a 7.62x39mm platform should confirm their barrel chambering before installation.
