Nobel Sport Steel Waterfowl Features The Nobel Sport Steel Waterfowl load drives 1-1/4 oz of steel shot at 1450 fps a velocity that keeps patterns flat and reduces the lead needed on fast crossing birds over water. Steel shot satisfies the non-toxic requirement for migratory waterfowl so this load stays legal wherever lead is banned for ducks and geese. The #4 shot size balances pellet count and mass giving broad coverage at range while retaining enough energy per pellet for ethical kills on decoying birds and close geese. Patterning this load through a dedicated waterfowl choke before the season opens is the best way to confirm its effective range with your gun. Nobel Sport builds these hunting shells on the same equipment and to the same standards used for its competition target loads and that shows in consistent charge weights and clean reliable ignition. Every shell pairs a NobleSport 209 primer with an even-patterning wad seated in a quality plastic hull so shot delivery stays uniform from the first round to the last. The 25 round box format makes it easy to keep a working supply on hand through a full day in the blind. For hunters who want dependable non-toxic performance at a fair price this steel waterfowl load is a smart addition to any 12 gauge lineup.
