Charles Daly 601 Turkey Features The Charles Daly 601 Turkey runs on a gas-operated action which softens felt recoil compared to inertia-driven designs and helps keep the shotgun steady for fast follow-up shots at wary spring gobblers. A grooved aluminum receiver keeps the shotgun s overall weight down to 6 lbs making it easier to carry through the woods during long stalks without adding fatigue to an already demanding hunt. The Beretta/Benelli Mobil choke pattern accepts a wide range of aftermarket chokes and the shotgun ships with three choke tubes including improved cylinder modified and full along with a wrench and case so the pattern can be tuned to the range and density of the birds being hunted. A manual safety and single trigger system keep the controls simple and intuitive in the field letting a hunter stay focused on the approach instead of the mechanics of the gun. TrueTimber Strata camo covers the vent rib barrel checkered synthetic stock and forend for complete visual concealment against turkey woods backgrounds breaking up the shooter s outline from the muzzle back to the buttstock. A rubber recoil pad reduces felt recoil from heavier turkey loads an important comfort feature since dense turkey payloads generate more felt recoil than typical field loads while sling studs allow for a comfortable carry sling during long walks between setups. The fixed stock configuration keeps the design simple and durable for repeated field use season after season with no moving parts to loosen or rattle under hard use. The Charles Daly 601 Turkey combines a lightweight aluminum receiver with a full camo treatment and a dependable gas system for hunters who want a dedicated purpose-built 20 gauge turkey gun that stays light on long hikes and steady when a shot finally presents itself.
