What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I wear this when I know the sun's going to be unrelenting. The cooling fabric really does make a difference when the heat spikes, and it dries fast if I'm sweating or getting splashed. The scuba-style hood stays put when the wind picks up, and the thumbholes give extra coverage without feeling restrictive."We head out on clear, heat-filled mornings knowing the Wild Cast Sun Hoodie from Columbia will keep us protected as light reflects off the water and the air starts to shimmer. The fabric's cool-to-the-touch feel helps us settle into the day, giving us room to cast, hike, or wade without overheating. Broad-spectrum UPF 50 coverage lets us stay out longer, even when the sun never dips behind a cloud. As the heat builds, Omni-Freeze and Omni-Wick work together to pull moisture from our skin, spread it across the surface, and speed evaporation, keeping us dry and comfortable during long stretches of activity. The quick-drying fibers help the hoodie stay light after spray or sweat, and the scuba-style hood with a drawcord offers secure coverage when glare intensifies across the water. Sun-blocking cuffs with thumbholes add another layer of protection, and the sleeve's sunglasses loop ensures our eyewear stays secure when we adjust gear or tie flies. When hot conditions demand real performance, this hoodie keeps us steady and cool.
