Caldwell AR500 Steel Target Features The Caldwell AR500 Steel Target bowling pin is laser cut from certified AR500 steel a hardened alloy chosen specifically for its ability to withstand repeated rimfire and non magnum handgun impacts without cratering or deforming. At a quarter inch thick this plate is intentionally lighter than thicker centerfire rated steel which allows for more plate movement and a louder more satisfying audible ring when struck even from lower energy rimfire or handgun rounds. Caldwell rates this target to handle velocities between 850 and 2550 feet per second covering the range typical of pistol and rimfire ammunition. The bowling pin shape measures roughly 10 inches long by 3 inches wide giving shooters a classic silhouette to challenge their accuracy at the range. A high visibility yellow powder coat finish keeps the target easy to see against dirt grass or snow backgrounds while also resisting the rust that bare or poorly coated steel develops over time outdoors. The target is designed to hang using T post hangers chains or straps making it compatible with a variety of Caldwell target hanger systems already in use at many ranges. A half inch bolt mounting option adds further versatility for shooters who prefer a fixed mounting setup over a swinging hanger. Backed by Caldwell s AR500 lifetime guarantee this bowling pin target is built to deliver years of dynamic shooting fun for novice and experienced shooters alike.
