When a sailfish charges a teaser, a tuna digs for deep water, or a trevally turns toward structure, the Temple Fork Outfitters Bluewater Fly Rod gives offshore fly anglers the casting speed and lifting power to stay connected to big pelagic fish. The Bluewater SG series combines a carbon fiber upper section for quick recovery and accurate presentations with proprietary S-Glass in the lower section for serious lifting strength. Axiom II single filament S-Glass reinforcement within the blank helps control ovaling under heavy pressure, improving stability as anglers lean into sharks, marlin, tuna, sailfish, and other powerful offshore species. A fully anodized aluminum reel seat provides a secure foundation for heavy-duty fly reels. TFO tailors the components across the Bluewater lineup to match different offshore applications. The TF BWSG BABY features composite cork split grips with traditional snake and stripper guides, while the Light Duty, Mid Duty, and Heavy Duty models use lengthened composite cork fore-grips that let anglers adjust hand placement during prolonged fights. Those models also feature aluminum oxide insert double-foot guides and an aluminum oxide tip top for added durability under demanding loads. The TF BWSG LD adds an extended handle for extra leverage and control. Four-piece construction makes these powerful saltwater fly rods easier to pack for destination trips, and TFO includes a Cordura case with each rod for protected transport and storage.
