Woox Thunderbird Features The Woox Thunderbird is purpose built for throwing with a lightweight axe head engineered to spin predictably and strike true for improved accuracy compared to a general purpose hatchet. Despite being optimized for throwing the tomahawk style design still functions as a capable one handed wood cutter making it a useful tool around camp when a quick chopping job comes up. The head is forged from Italian tempered carbon steel a material chosen for its ability to hold an edge and withstand the repeated impact of competitive throwing. Offered in a Purple finish the Thunderbird can help teams or individual competitors distinguish their equipment at an event. The 14 inch handle is made from real American Appalachian hickory a hardwood long favored for axe handles because of its strength and ability to absorb shock from repeated impacts. This combination of a tempered steel head and a hickory handle meets both National and International competition requirements set by WATL and IATF making the Thunderbird suitable for sanctioned axe throwing events. A protective sheath is included to guard the sharp edge and prevent unintended cuts during storage and transport between throws. A dual grit whetstone puck is also included giving the owner a simple way to maintain the Thunderbird s edge between sessions for sale at GrabAGun.
