Guntec Ultra Light Handguard Features The Guntec USA Ultra Light Handguard uses a proprietary barrel nut included with the rail that the handguard slides over before locking against the receiver with six screws. That six screw attachment pulls the handguard in tight against the upper receiver closing the gap that can otherwise break up a continuous top rail. The result is a monolithic 1913 top rail that runs from the receiver to the end of the handguard giving a consistent mounting surface for optics iron sights or a long-eye-relief scope. At 9 inches long the handguard suits shorter barrel configurations while leaving room for a sling mount or light near the muzzle end. Machined from T6 aluminum the handguard is engineered to be ultralight keeping added weight at the front of the rifle to a minimum for better balance and faster handling. The M-LOK slot system lets users attach rail sections lights bipods and other accessories directly to the handguard without needing a separate quad rail adapter. Its free floating design keeps the barrel from contacting the handguard which can improve accuracy by isolating barrel harmonics from accessory pressure. For builders looking to shed weight while gaining a true monolithic rail the Guntec USA Ultra Light Handguard is available for sale at GrabAGun.
