The nitrided finish on the barrel resists corrosion and heat better than a standard phosphate coating holding up through repeated strings of fire from this pistol length gas system. A 4 rail knurled free float handguard surrounds the barrel without contacting it improving accuracy by keeping outside pressure off the barrel itself.
