Product Description
Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW, 300 Blackout, 7" Barrel, 30 Round, Black, Pistol
The Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW is a compact 300 Blackout AR-style pistol built for home defense, personal protection and fun at the range. Its 7 inch cold hammer forged barrel keeps subsonic loads subsonic and still gives good ballistics with supersonic ammunition, and the whole pistol measures just 20.75 inches with the brace collapsed.
This is part number 02-088-22070-047, the black hard coat anodized pistol model. It ships with a Maxim Defense CQB Pistol Brace, a 6 inch MFR XL M-LOK rail, a Daniel Defense linear compensator and one Magpul PMAG 30 AR 300 B GEN M3 magazine, all packed in a Daniel Defense full-latch impact plastic case.
A 5.7 lb, 300 Blackout pistol that fits where a full-size carbine will not.
7 Inch 300 Blackout Barrel
Daniel Defense hammer forges its barrels in house from chrome moly vanadium steel. Cold hammer forging packs the steel tight around a mandrel, which gives long barrel life and consistent accuracy. Each barrel is chrome lined, Mil-Spec heavy phosphate coated and HP/MPI tested. The PDW barrel uses the S2W profile, Daniel Defense's proprietary heavy contour, with a 1:7 twist that stabilizes both heavy subsonic bullets and lighter supersonic loads.
The muzzle is threaded 5/8x24 and wears a Daniel Defense linear compensator made of 17-4 PH stainless steel with a salt bath nitride finish. The linear comp pushes blast and noise forward, away from the shooter, which matters a lot on a barrel this short. The threads also let you swap in a different muzzle device or mount for a suppressor, and 300 Blackout is one of the best calibers to run suppressed. Check your local laws before buying or using a suppressor.
Maxim Defense CQB Pistol Brace
The PDW comes with the Maxim Defense CQB Pistol Brace and Maxim's enhanced buffer system. The brace collapses tight against the receiver for storage and extends to 24.75 inches overall when you need it, giving you an adjustable point of contact for steadier one-handed or braced shooting. Daniel Defense states the system runs reliably suppressed or unsuppressed. This is a pistol brace, not a shoulder stock; Daniel Defense sells the PDW as a separate SBR model with the CQB Gen 7 stock.
Rail, Controls and Handling
The MFR XL 6.0 handguard is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and Type III hard coat anodized. It has a continuous top rail for optics and M-LOK slots for lights, lasers and grips. An SLR M-LOK MOD2 plain front handstop comes installed to keep your support hand behind the muzzle.
The GRIP-N-RIP charging handle has independent latches on both sides, so left- and right-handed shooters can run the rifle the same way. The pistol length direct impingement gas system uses a low profile gas block machined from hardened 4140 steel.
The upper and lower receivers are CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and Type III hard coat anodized. The upper has indexing marks and M4 feed ramps, and the lower has an enhanced flared magazine well and a rear QD swivel attachment point. The bolt carrier group is M16 profile, Mil-Spec MP tested and chrome lined, with a properly staked gas key.
Who the DDM4 PDW Is For
The PDW makes sense if you want a defensive long gun that stores in a small case, rides in a vehicle or backpack, and is easy to move with inside a house. Shooters who already own a suppressor will like how quiet it is with subsonic 300 Blackout. If you want something with more barrel, look at the rest of our Daniel Defense firearms or other AR-style pistols.
