Crosman 1322 American Classic .22 Variable Pump Air Pistol, BlackThe Crosman 1322 American Classic .22 Variable Pump Air Pistol is an air pistol in .22 from Crosman.Order the Crosman 1322 American Classic .22 Variable Pump Air Pistol today. How the Powerplant WorksA multi-pump pneumatic is charged by working the forearm pump lever. More pumps raise velocity up to the manufacturer's maximum, so one airgun covers close-range plinking and harder-hitting shots. No CO2 or external air source is needed.Who It Is ForAn air pistol like this is a low-cost way to practice grip, sight alignment and trigger control. Ammunition costs a fraction of what firearm ammunition does, and you can often train at home or in the backyard where local rules allow.About the CaliberThe .22 caliber (5.5 mm) fires heavier pellets than .177. They carry more energy and hit harder at a given velocity, which is why .22 is a popular choice for small game and pest control where legal.Specifications ExplainedCrosman rates velocity at 460 fps. Published velocity is measured with the ammunition type the manufacturer lists; heavier pellets will shoot slower but often carry more energy. For capacity and feeding, Crosman lists: Single Shot. The barrel is listed as Rifled. A rifled barrel spins the pellet for accuracy.Trigger: Single Stage. A predictable trigger is one of the biggest factors in accurate shooting. For aiming, the manufacturer lists Fixed. Check the rail type before buying rings or a dot sight. The safety is listed as Crossbolt. Learn how it works from the owner's manual before loading.Getting Started and CareBefore the first session, read the owner's manual, check that the gun is unloaded, and set up a safe backstop or pellet trap. Shoot from a rest to confirm where the gun hits at your usual distance, then adjust the sights or scope.Try several brands and weights of quality .22 pellets of the type the manufacturer lists. Airguns often prefer one pellet over another, and finding it is the quickest way to tighter groups.Never pump beyond the maximum the manufacturer lists, store the gun with one pump in it if the manual says so to protect the seals, and add a drop of pellgunoil or the recommended oil to the pump pivot point now and then. What You Will Want With ItEye protection for the shooter and anyone nearbyA pellet or BB trap rated for the gun's power, or a safe backstopPaper targets or reactive targetsSafety and Local LawsTreat every airgun as if it were loaded, keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, and keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot. Shooters and anyone nearby should wear eye protection. Airgun laws vary by state and city, including age limits and where you can shoot, so check your local rules before ordering. Airguns are not toys and must be used with adult supervision by younger shooters.
