The first chairlift ride of a resort day shows quickly whether the Defiance Truflex LS ski package, with its EL 10 Shift binding and Cruise boot, works as one setup. A soft 65 flex in the boot and a cap-construction ski keep the setup forgiving for a developing skier, while the binding's SX toe and heel pass the skier's movements on to the ski. On groomers and mixed resort terrain, the 76 millimeter waist keeps the ski easy to steer. What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"Past noon on a long resort day, the wide fit kept my forefoot from pinching, and the Comfort Fit liner kept my feet warm. For skiers upgrading from rentals, a boot that stays comfortable through the last lap is the first thing I look for, and this package has it."
