The Kowa BDIII XD 10x42 combines strong 10x magnification with a full-size 42mm objective for an ultra-wide field of view and impressive low-light reach. Kowa Prominar XD (extra-low dispersion) lens elements are fully multi-coated and finished with KR hydrophobic coatings to shed water and repel dirt on the exterior surfaces, while phase-corrected, highly reflective prism coatings maximize light transmission and contrast. The magnesium alloy chassis is wrapped in rugged rubber armor for secure handling, and nitrogen purging with O-ring sealing keeps the optic waterproof and fogproof in demanding field conditions. A comfortable 16.5mm eye relief and a close focus of 5.9 feet make it versatile enough for both distant wildlife observation and closer subjects like butterflies or feeder birds. At 21.5 oz, it's a capable choice for hunters, birders, and outdoor enthusiasts who want the extended reach of 10x without sacrificing field of view.
