Savage Axis 2 Pro Forest Features The Savage Arms Axis 2 Pro is built around a carbon steel heavy sporter contour barrel that is spiral fluted to reduce weight while maintaining rigidity for consistent accuracy. Chambered in 25-06 Rem the 20 barrel carries a 1:10 twist rate suited to a broad range of bullet weights common to the cartridge giving hunters flexibility in load selection for everything from varmints to larger game. The barrel and receiver are both finished in Gun Metal Bronze Cerakote a durable coating that resists wear and corrosion better than traditional bluing and holds up to repeated exposure to the elements in the field. A 5/8x24 thread pattern at the muzzle supports suppressor use or other muzzle devices for shooters who want added versatility and control over recoil and muzzle rise. The AccuTrigger is user adjustable from 2.5 to 6 pounds of pull weight giving shooters the ability to tune the trigger to their preference for a clean repeatable break shot after shot. An ambidextrous magazine release and a detachable box magazine holding four rounds make reloading straightforward in the field whether the rifle is carried by a right handed or left handed hunter. The synthetic stock is finished in Forest camo with a matte finish offering practical concealment during big game hunts while standing up to rough handling in rugged terrain. A one-piece 0 MOA scope base is included giving hunters a ready platform for mounting optics without sourcing separate parts rounding out this dependable big game hunting rifle built for the field from the factory forward.
