Proof Research PR15 PXT Carbon Fiber AR Features The Proof Research PR15 PXT Carbon Fiber AR barrel uses Proof Research s carbon fiber wrapping process over a stainless steel liner significantly reducing weight at the front of an AR-10 pattern rifle compared to a conventional steel barrel of the same length. Chambered in .308 Win the 20 barrel carries a 1:10 twist rate that stabilizes the common range of .308 bullet weights used in both precision shooting and hunting applications. A threaded muzzle on a 5/8x24 pattern allows shooters to add a suppressor or muzzle brake giving the barrel flexibility for both range and field use. The Stainless finish over the steel core provides corrosion resistance while the carbon fiber wrap handles the heat dissipation during sustained firing. Built for AR-platform rifles this barrel lets builders assemble a precision .308 Win upper that is noticeably lighter than a comparable steel-barreled build improving overall balance and reducing fatigue during extended carries or long positions on a bipod. Proof Research s carbon fiber barrels have earned a strong reputation among precision rifle shooters for delivering accuracy on par with premium steel barrels while shaving meaningful weight. At just 1 lb 12 oz this barrel keeps a finished AR-10 build lighter and more maneuverable than the competition. The Proof Research PR15 PXT Carbon Fiber AR barrel is available for sale at GrabAGun for builders who want lightweight accurate .308 Win performance in their AR-10 platform.
