Proof Research AR-10 Barrel Features The Proof Research AR-10 Barrel uses PXT PROOF Exponential Twist a complete rethinking of conventional rifling design and twist progression engineered to reduce engraving force minimize throat erosion and create a smoother transition as the projectile engages the rifling. By dramatically reducing rifling lead angle and smoothing projectile engagement into the bore PXT technology helps reduce wear and improve consistency while creating less felt torque during firing. In controlled testing PXT barrels have demonstrated significant increases in barrel life while maintaining the accuracy standards expected from a Proof barrel. The 20 inch carbon fiber barrel carries a 1:7.5 twist rate matched to heavier 6.5 Creedmoor projectiles. Built with a rifle plus two gas length and an .875 inch gas journal this barrel is designed for direct impingement AR10 platform rifles running a .086 port size. It is threaded 5/8-24 at the muzzle and arrives fully chambered and ready for installation making it an easy upgrade for shooters building or refining a high-performance rifle system. At roughly 2 pounds 14 ounces the carbon fiber construction keeps the front end of the rifle light compared to a traditional steel barrel. For shooters seeking improved barrel life and accuracy in a 6.5 Creedmoor AR10 build this Proof Research barrel is a proven upgrade.
