Proof Research PR15 PXT Steel AR Barrel Features The Proof Research PR15 PXT Steel AR Barrel is chambered in 6mm ARC and machined from steel with a stainless finish giving builders a durable accurate replacement barrel for an AR15 platform rifle. At 14.5 inches with an intermediate length gas system the barrel strikes a balance between maneuverability and the velocity needed to maximize 6mm ARC s long range performance. A 1 in 7.5 inch twist rate is matched to stabilize the heavier higher ballistic coefficient bullets that 6mm ARC shooters typically run at distance. Five groove rifling and a .750 inch gas block diameter keep the barrel compatible with standard AR15 components and handguards. The barrel is threaded 5/8x24 giving shooters the option to add a muzzle brake compensator or suppressor to manage recoil and reduce flash. Proof Research s PXT designation reflects the company s refined rifling geometry engineered to reduce bullet engraving force and extend usable barrel life under sustained shooting. A standard barrel contour keeps the weight manageable for a precision AR build without sacrificing the rigidity needed for consistent accuracy. Built for shooters upgrading an existing AR15 to 6mm ARC the PR15 PXT Steel Barrel delivers the accuracy and durability that a precision rifle platform demands.
