B&P Heavy Pheasant Features The B&P Heavy Pheasant load is built around high antimony nickel-plated lead shot in a number 5 size chosen for the penetration and pattern density pheasant hunters rely on. The Gordon case wad reduces the pressure developed on firing which softens the shooter s felt recoil while still delivering excellent terminal performance on birds. Its conical base shape optimizes powder combustion for consistent velocity shot to shot which in turn supports more predictable patterning in the field. At 1300 fps this 1-1/4 ounce payload carries the energy needed for clean humane kills at typical upland ranges. The Gordon wad s slightly larger base diameter formed by four concentric rings helps seal the bore for more consistent gas sealing during ignition. That consistency translates into fewer flyers and a denser pattern downrange which upland hunters count on when birds flush unpredictably. Packed 25 rounds to the box this load is sized for a day in the field without excess bulk in a vest or bag.
