Area 419 Traditional Bipod Rail Features Area 419 redesigned the bipod rail from scratch and the result is a 4.8 rail with 10 slots giving shooters significantly more mounting positions than the smaller competing rails. Every corner is radiused and every edge is chamfered on the machine eliminating the sharp edges found on cheaper stamped rails. The full width lug accommodates Larue style bipod mounts directly and because mounting screws sit countersunk below the slot surface no usable slot is ever blocked by hardware. This attention to detail takes longer to manufacture but it delivers a cleaner more functional rail for serious shooters. Made from 7075-T651 aluminum for maximum strength at minimum weight the rail ships with two low profile 10-32 x 3/4 socket head cap screws and two tee-nuts for installation into stocks with no existing hardware along with two Keymod nuts and screws. A 3/4 paddle bit and drill press may be required to install the tee-nuts depending on the stock s current configuration. The rail accommodates 1.5 to 3.475 center on center screw spacing though Area 419 does not recommend using a flush cup mount for carry at the tighter end of that range.
