The Knives of Alaska Trekker Whitetail is a purpose-built fixed-blade hunting knife for field dressing, skinning and processing whitetail deer and similarly sized game. This black Suregrip version combines a 3.25-inch drop-point blade with an integrated gut hook, giving hunters a versatile tool for controlled opening cuts and longer slicing work. The blade is made from D2 tool steel and hardened to 59-61 HRC for a practical balance of edge retention, durability and field serviceability. Its 18- to 20-degree edge bevel supports efficient cutting and can be maintained with commonly available sharpening equipment. Measuring 8.45 inches overall, the knife is compact enough for convenient belt or pack carry while providing the handle length and blade profile needed for demanding game-processing tasks. Full-tang construction extends the steel through the handle for dependable strength and balance. The finely checkered black Suregrip handle is made from Santoprene, a rubber-like material selected to provide a secure, comfortable hold in cold, wet or slippery working conditions. Jimping along the blade spine near the handle gives the user an additional contact surface for leverage and precise blade control. At only 4.3 ounces, the knife adds little weight to a hunting kit and remains manageable during extended processing sessions. A vegetable-tanned, oiled leather sheath is included to protect the blade and provide convenient field carry. The sheath is made from split-grain cowhide and complements the knife's straightforward, traditional hunting configuration. Made in the USA from American materials, the Trekker Whitetail is designed as a practical single-knife option for hunters who want a drop-point blade and substantial gut hook in one compact tool. The blade should be washed with soap and water, dried promptly and lightly oiled after use; it is not dishwasher safe.Specifications and Features: 3.25-inch drop-point D2 steel blade with gut hook Black finely checkered Suregrip handle Full-tang fixed-blade construction 8.45-inch overall length Blade thickness: 0.105-0.110 inch Blade hardness: 59-61 HRC Edge bevel: 18-20 degrees Vegetable-tanned oiled leather sheath included Knife weight: 4.3 ounces Made in the USA Brand: Knives of Alaska Series: Trekker Whitetail Product Type: Fixed Blade Hunting Knife Manufacturer Part Number: 00162FG UPC: 790380001079
