Specialized Epic 9 Sport Bike 2027An Epic Start If you race XC or just like covering big miles on fast singletrack, the Epic 9 Sport is a lightweight full-suspension bike that's quick on climbs and composed on the way down. The FACT 11m carbon frame pairs 120mm of rear travel with a 120mm fork and sits on fast-rolling 29" wheels front and rear. The geometry is progressive for an XC race bike. A 65. 9deg head angle and a 76deg seat tube angle put you in a strong climbing position and keep you steady when the trail gets rough. If you want quicker handling, the High setting steepens the head angle to 66. 3deg and raises the bottom bracket 5mm. The frame is Rider-First Engineered(TM), with a threaded bottom bracket, internal cable routing and a UDH-compatible 12x148mm rear dropout built for wireless drivetrains. On the suspension side, a Rock Shox Reba fork with the Motion Control damper handles the front. In back, a Rock Shox SIDLuxe Select+ shock has a 3-position lever that firms up the rear for climbs. SRAM's wireless S1000 Eagle AXS 12-speed derailleur shifts through an AXS Pod Controller. A 32T Eagle 70 crankset and a 10-52T cassette give you plenty of range for long climbs and fast flats. SRAM DB4 4-piston hydraulic brakes with 180mm front and 160mm rear rotors deliver steady, controlled stopping. The tubeless-ready alloy rims are 27mm wide inside. They carry a Fast Trak up front and an Air Trak in back, both 29x2. 35" with Flex Lite casings. The bike ships with tubes, so you can convert to tubeless whenever you're ready. A Tranz X dropper with 100-150mm of drop, depending on frame size, gets the saddle out of the way on descents.
