The Rossignol BC 80 Positrack Ski Package pairs a waxless backcountry Nordic ski with a boot and binding built on the same Rottefella NBC standard, confirming the connection between boot and ski before it ever leaves the box. The BC Auto binding's step-in entry keeps setup simple in bulky gloves, and that ease doesn't cap out early: the ski's own intermediate-to-advanced capability still has room to run once technique catches up. Full-length steel edges hold an edge when the trail turns icy, and the included adjustable poles round out a kit built for leaving the groomed trail behind. What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I've stepped back into the BC X5 boot cold and wet after breaking through a crusted layer, and the BC Auto binding's step-in still locked on the first try. The wide platform under the boot held its line through frozen ruts where a narrower Nordic setup would have twisted, so once I clicked in I stopped thinking about my feet and started paying attention to the trail."
