Its large aperture ring gives the eye a wide field of view which speeds up target acquisition significantly compared to a traditional small notch rear sight especially on fast moving game at close range. Two interchangeable apertures a .230 inch and a .191 inch let the shooter select a wider or tighter sight picture depending on ambient light conditions in the field. The sight is fully adjustable for both windage and elevation allowing a precise zero once it is mounted to the receiver. This Ghost Ring Sight is designed to fit Marlin and Ruger manufactured 336 1894 and 30AS model rifles that already carry a front sight blade installed in a ramp and it is intended for use with a lever rail purchased separately since the rear sight relocates from the barrel to the receiver. The companion White Stripe front sight replaces the factory blade and ramp with a blued steel body topped by a painted white stripe that stays highly visible in both bright and low light conditions. That white on black contrast also holds up against virtually any background color a hunter might be shooting across.
