Because the plate is designed to sit the optic as low as possible on the slide shooters can co witness their optic with factory height iron sights rather than being forced into taller suppressor height sights. All Shield plates and mounts share this same footprint compatibility so the optic mounting geometry stays consistent across the Shield lineup. Compact and subcompact Glock MOS models may show a small border of the plate due to their reduced slide width a detail worth noting before ordering. Everything needed for installation ships in the box including the mounting plate itself a 2mm Allen wrench an L-shaped T6 Torx torque wrench and both M3 by 6mm socket flanged button screws and M3 by 6mm ultra low head cap screws.
