DoubleTap Snake Shot Features The DoubleTap Ammunition Snake Shot in 9mm combines a 95 grain jacketed hollow point bullet with a payload of #9 shot creating a hybrid shotshell style round for a standard pistol. That JHP core penetrates 10 to 12 inches in ballistic gel and expands to roughly .53 inches giving it effective performance in scenarios where reduced penetration is preferred such as inside a home. The added shot payload extends the round s usefulness beyond personal defense making it capable of dealing with snakes and small varmints encountered outdoors. This dual purpose design gives shooters flexibility from a single cartridge without needing to swap ammunition types in the field. Brass cased and boxed 20 rounds at a time the Snake Shot load is built for shooters who want one round that adapts to multiple situations. DoubleTap specifically engineered this load to serve as an all around defensive tool useful whether the threat is a person or a venomous snake underfoot. Because the shot payload changes ballistic behavior compared to a standard round this load is not recommended for use in suppressed firearms. For shooters who carry a 9mm pistol while hiking camping or working outdoors the DoubleTap Snake Shot offers a uniquely versatile option.
