DoubleTap Controlled Expansion Features The DoubleTap Ammunition Controlled Expansion load pushes a 250 grain semi jacketed hollow point at roughly 1375 feet per second generating around 511 foot pounds of energy from the .45 Colt cartridge well beyond what standard pressure loads typically produce. This increased velocity comes from DoubleTap s careful attention to powder selection and load development squeezing more performance out of the cartridge while staying within safe pressure limits for modern firearms. The semi jacketed hollow point bullet is designed to expand reliably on impact while the jacket helps control that expansion so the bullet still penetrates deeply enough for a clean effective result. Reloadable brass cases with boxer primers let handloaders reuse the components after firing. Packed 20 rounds to a box this ammunition suits both range practice and field carry for revolver shooters who want consistent repeatable performance. DoubleTap s reputation is built on maximizing cartridge performance for hunters and defensive shooters who want more out of established calibers like the .45 Colt. The higher velocity and energy output make this load particularly well suited to hunting medium game or serving as a capable woods carry round. For .45 Colt revolver owners who want a load engineered for genuine stopping power DoubleTap Controlled Expansion delivers.
