Cast Protagonist 29" Tire Grip First. Corner Confident. When the terrain turns technical and the margin for error shrinks, a front tire's ability to initiate clean direction changes becomes everything. The Protagonist is a front-specific tread design, built exactly for those conditions. Its V-design tread pattern uses varying knob height to deliver progressive cornering support, so you can lean into transitions without the tire giving up grip mid-arc. The Smart Evo DH compound underneath it is formulated by Pirelli's motorsport compounding team specifically for enduro and DH racing, not adapted from a road or XC program. Two carcass options let you match the build to your riding: Dual Wall for maximum protection on rowdy DH and consequence-heavy enduro terrain, Hard Wall for a lighter, more supple feel when you need to save grams on race day without giving up sidewall support entirely.
