What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I wore these on a windy ridge line day where every other layer I had was working overtime, and my hands were the one thing I never had to worry about. The leather palm held a solid grip on my pole even when I was gripping hard through some chattery terrain."Wind at altitude finds every gap in a bad glove, and the Apex Pro Mitten is built so there aren't any to find. Swany constructed a performance leather shell tough enough for rope tows and rocky traverses, then backed it with a Tri-Plex Alpha insulation system boosted by SolarCore technology for the kind of warmth that holds up on an exposed summit. A DryFinger II insert keeps hands dry through wet spring snow or a sudden squall without trapping sweat inside, and the Aerodyne palm construction locks in a grip on the pole even when conditions turn slick. Finger channels keep fingers positioned naturally inside the shell, avoiding the bunched, clumsy feel some mittens force on a long descent.
