Weatherby Mark V Carbon Compact Features The Weatherby Mark V Carbon Compact is built with a shorter length of pull and the lighter 6-lug standard action making it a natural fit for smaller-statured shooters who still want full Mark V performance in a compact package. The BSF carbon fiber barrel delivers unmatched accuracy while shedding significant weight compared to a traditional steel barrel and Weatherby s Accubrake DST directional self-timing brake further tames recoil from the .280 Ackley Improved cartridge. A deep spiral fluted bolt reduces weight and bearing surface area resulting in a smoother more consistent cycle and the 54 degree bolt lift supports fast cycling while maintaining generous scope clearance. An adjustable TriggerTech trigger lets each shooter fine-tune pull weight to their preference. The Monte Carlo inspired stock is hand-laid and hand-painted in Sheridan Wyoming finished in Black with Brown Green and White sponge accents that give the rifle genuine field-ready camouflage. This stock design directs recoil force away from the shooter s face keeping the eye aligned with the scope for faster recovery between shots. The receiver and metalwork receive a durable OD Green Cerakote finish for protection in demanding field conditions while the bolt bolt knob and safety carry a contrasting Graphite Black Cerakote finish. Smaller-framed hunters looking for a premium lightweight rifle that does not compromise on accuracy will find the Mark V Carbon Compact built exactly for them.
