Franklin Armory OPS Features The Franklin Armory OPS uses a piston-driven operating system rather than standard direct gas impingement which keeps fouling and carbon buildup out of the action for cleaner more reliable cycling over extended range sessions. A 16 inch barrel with a 1:10 twist rate stabilizes a wide range of 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington bullet weights giving shooters flexibility for target shooting home defense or general-purpose use. The rifle s overall length of 34 inches keeps it compact and easy to maneuver in tight spaces while still providing enough sight radius for accurate aiming with iron sights or a mounted optic. Because the OPS-16 piston system isolates combustion gases from the bolt carrier group internal parts stay drier and cooler across a long shooting session which translates into fewer stoppages and a longer service life between cleanings. A black synthetic stock keeps the rifle lightweight at 8 pounds while resisting the warping and moisture absorption that can affect wood-stocked rifles over time. The detachable 30 round magazine allows for fast reloads a meaningful advantage in both defensive and range shooting scenarios. Finished in a durable black metal coating the OPS resists corrosion and wear from repeated handling and range use. The synthetic furniture and metal finish work together to keep upkeep simple since neither surface demands the oiling or careful storage that a wood-stocked rifle requires. For shooters wanting the reliability benefits of a piston system in a dependable AR-15 platform one that stays cleaner shot after shot and holds up to hard use in the field or at the range the Franklin Armory OPS is available for sale at GrabAGun.
