Faxon Firearms FX7 Barreled Action Features The Faxon Firearms FX7 Barreled Action is built around a 416 stainless steel action body paired with a 4340 carbon steel bolt giving the receiver both corrosion resistance and the toughness needed for repeated high-round-count use. Its 6-lug bolt design arranged in two rings of three delivers a fast 70-degree bolt lift allowing quicker cycling than a traditional two-lug action particularly when a scope is mounted low over the receiver. The action is compatible with Remington 700 short-action stocks chassis systems and triggers as well as AICS and AW pattern magazines giving builders wide latitude in configuring the rest of the rifle. Faxon s original flame fluting reduces weight along the action body while adding a distinctive visual signature to the build. The 20 Gunner-contour barrel is 5R button rifled then honed and lapped for accuracy with a 1:8 twist rate that stabilizes the heavier bullet weights favored in 6.5 Creedmoor long-range shooting. Both the action and barrel wear Faxon s ArmorLube DLC coating a mil-spec finish that reduces glare and improves durability in the field. The barrel is threaded 5/8x24 at the muzzle and finished with a recessed target crown for consistent accuracy at distance. An integrated 20-MOA Picatinny rail and integrated recoil lug come standard giving builders a rock-solid mounting foundation for a long-range optic. For shooters building a precision 6.5 Creedmoor rifle from the ground up the FX7 Barreled Action offers a proven American-made starting point.
