What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I clipped the Oval XL Non-Locking Carabiner onto my rack for a full weekend of trad routes and never once fumbled with a stuck wire or pin. The wide gate opening and Keylock nose make grabbing gear off my harness quick even with cold hands, and the full-size oval shape keeps everything sitting evenly so my rack doesn't clump into a mess."Somewhere below a granite headwall, we've watched a rack turn into chaos more times than we'd like to admit, and that's where the Oval XL Non-Locking Carabiner earns its keep. Backcountry carries this carabiner for climbers who spend long days ferrying gear between pitches, because its full-size oval shape gives wires, pins, and slings room to move without bunching up on the harness. Racking becomes less of a chore and more of a rhythm, letting us focus on the next placement instead of digging through a tangled mess of hardware. That ease comes down to design. The I-Beam construction shaves weight without sacrificing strength, so the carabiner carries a 28 kN major axis rating while staying light enough to clip a dozen onto a harness without noticing. A wide gate opening paired with a Keylock nose lets gear slide on and off cleanly, even when cold fingers slow down everything else.
