What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I wore the Eiger Speed HS Pant on a technical alpine route where harness compatibility and weather protection both had to work perfectly, and it delivered on both counts. The waterproof zipper on the front pocket stays accessible even under a harness, and the side vents let me dump heat fast on the approach without stopping to strip layers."When the objective is serious and the weather is unpredictable, the gear holding up the whole system matters more than anything else. The Mammut Eiger Speed HS Pant was purpose-built for exactly those conditions, bringing hardshell protection and alpine-specific function together in a lightweight package that moves with you instead of slowing you down. Whether the route involves a long approach, steep technical terrain, or both, these pants stay out of the way until the moment you need them. The 20,000mm waterproof rating keeps rain, snow, and spindrift firmly on the outside, while the highly breathable construction manages the heat that builds on sustained climbs and fast-moving approaches. Adjustable leg width makes it easy to layer over boots or crampons, detachable braces with a flat closure system keep the fit secure under a harness, and side vents with waterproof zippers let you regulate temperature without compromising protection. The harness-compatible front pocket with a waterproof zipper stays fully accessible when roped up, so the things you need on the route are always within reach.
